Portfolio Bag

So I had this portfolio

It was like 10$ or less than 10$ something, not bad, but those handles scratched the paper on the inside and there was this glue that kept sticking to it, but I needed the bag to store those drawings somewhere for the year. Until the other day, when I made one myself.
It was an easy project, I started by measuring it to fit 11 by 18 paper on linen and what ever that seer orange fabric is called.
And than I measured the sides once I sewn the front and back piece, but before I attached the sides I made the handles and quickly attached them. (not pictured)

That was when I noticed the flap wouldn't stay closed as it was, so I got to dig into my grandmothers stuff and found this hammer on clasp. Sadly it was late when I dug them out, so I wasn't at my full attention when hammering it into the fabric and messed up. Taking them out was not an option so I just sewn buttens to hid it on the outside, and matched the buttons on the opposite so it matched.
And that explains the button pattern.
Some other details

It's not as sturdy as the one I bought, didn't have the material to let it stand on its own, but there is enough stuff in it to do it on its own. I also made a smaller folder to go inside with it, to fit in smaller drawings

And that was what I made the other day.
