Portfolio Bag II

Because I will be moving to New York soon and will be attending graduate school latter, I decided a new portfolio bag was needed. The last one I made is nice, but did not have interfacing, and a start of journey needs to celebrated with new gear.

The inside will be made of the same orange fabric as the last bag. The other (fancy vintage black one) was found stuffed in the corner in the basement with other rolls of fabric (really nice find from the usual scraps I use)

As always I did not take/write down real measurement of my project.  I just took one of my sketchbooks, looked at the interfacing and estimated how long I need the pieces to be.

Pieces: Side of bag and handles
I also had an idea to add an inside pocket to the bag. For any looking for tips, sew the handles on first before the pocket, if you don't the pocket won't open.

After sewing it all together I ended up with a lovely portfolio.

Comparison of new and old.

Even made a small folder, like I did for the last portfolio bag.

I also found one of my old name tags my mom had to order for this summer camp I went to. Now I have a nice supply of name tags for future projects.
