Collage table

Had these tray tables for a few years, and decided it was time to have them reflect my kind of style.

This was a ModPodge collage using old construction paper.

At first I was going to collage a multi colored design but thought against it, simplicity over complexity. That is why there is a peaking strip of orange under the violet, I was already glueing the layers while working out what I wanted to do.

To keep it simple, but interesting I went and retrieved our old stamps from the basement. Found the only one with the most appeal to me and tested with inks.

Between the sumi, and stamps ink they blended some neat colors and spills. I wanted a violet colored table but ran out shades, and had to improvise with the test paper.

At first I was worried that this project would not work because of the holes in the tables, but luckily I had a compass to draw an even circle. Overall I am happy with the results and sealing it over with modpodge did not smear the ink as I feared, but it did take three days to dry.
